The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Region Americas, PR & Communications to oversee and lead strategic communications and public relations activities across the Americas region. This hybrid, full-time role involves developing localized communication strategies, managing media relations, and ensuring alignment with DET’s corporate objectives. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in regional PR and communications, skilled in stakeholder engagement, crisis management, and agency oversight.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Communication:
Develop localized PR strategies per market. Create strategic messaging aligned with Dubai’s international image and DET’s objectives. Oversee PR budgets and ensure efficient resource utilization. -
Regional Communications Oversight:
Lead the planning and execution of regional communications activities. Align market efforts with global teams and make strategic adjustments based on regional dynamics. -
Stakeholder & Media Relations:
Build and nurture relationships with Dubai-based and regional partners. Engage with key media figures and influencers to enhance Dubai’s image in the Americas. -
Agency Management:
Lead the RFP and contract process for PR agencies. Oversee agency performance and ensure campaign effectiveness and alignment with DET goals. -
Executive Profiling:
Manage CEO and senior spokesperson visibility in the media, including interview planning, message development, and alignment with corporate narratives. -
Crisis Management:
Lead regional crisis response strategies in alignment with DET’s central crisis team. Implement clear escalation protocols. -
Media Familiarization Trips:
Approve media participants, coordinate strategic itineraries, and ensure alignment with messaging and seasonal market priorities. -
Broadcast & Content Partnerships:
Initiate and manage content partnerships. Lead contract negotiations, editorial planning, and performance tracking for key campaigns and broadcasts.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven experience in leading PR & Communications for a global or regional organization.

Strong understanding of media landscapes in North and South America.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Track record in strategic agency management, executive visibility, and content partnerships.

Crisis management experience is a must.

Fluency in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
