This position is ideal for someone passionate about animals, the outdoors, and working with their hands to support conservation.
🧰 Key Responsibilities:

Maintain elephant and rhino exhibits and surrounding landscapes
-
Operate landscaping equipment: skid-steers, mowers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.

Perform groundskeeping tasks: mowing, pruning, mulching, power washing
-
Ensure cleanliness and safety across zoo pathways and service areas
-
Support the animal care, horticulture, and grounds teams collaboratively
-
Communicate project status and complete tasks to meet deadlines
-
Provide outstanding service to guests and internal teams
-
Participate in conservation and sustainability initiatives
-
Follow safety protocols and contribute to a positive team environment
📋 Qualifications:
✅ Minimum Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
1+ year experience in landscape/grounds maintenance (or equivalent)
-
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
-
Completion of OKC Zoo Global Academy training within 6 months
-
Ability to pass drug test, background check, and annual TB screening

Physical ability to work in indoor/outdoor zoo environments
