This position is ideal for someone passionate about animals, the outdoors, and working with their hands to support conservation.

🧰 Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain elephant and rhino exhibits and surrounding landscapes

• Operate landscaping equipment: skid-steers, mowers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.

• Perform groundskeeping tasks: mowing, pruning, mulching, power washing

• Ensure cleanliness and safety across zoo pathways and service areas

• Support the animal care, horticulture, and grounds teams collaboratively

• Communicate project status and complete tasks to meet deadlines

• Provide outstanding service to guests and internal teams

• Participate in conservation and sustainability initiatives

• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a positive team environment

📋 Qualifications:

✅ Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1+ year experience in landscape/grounds maintenance (or equivalent)

• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

• Completion of OKC Zoo Global Academy training within 6 months

• Ability to pass drug test, background check, and annual TB screening

• Physical ability to work in indoor/outdoor zoo environments
