A leading oil trading firm is seeking a Governance Officer to strengthen its governance and compliance framework. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing business. We are looking for a professional with experience in commodities trading or banking, ensuring adherence to corporate governance best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and review of governance frameworks.

Stay informed on evolving regulations and industry best practices.

Support the risk team in compliance monitoring and oversight.

Act as the first point of contact for governance-related queries.

Contribute to the development and review of training materials.

Evaluate and enhance governance processes, policies, and frameworks.

Track industry trends and legislative changes impacting governance.

Provide governance support to the board and business committees.

Assist in the preparation of agendas and meeting documentation.

Ensure effective implementation of company policies and procedures.

Provide advice and guidance to senior management on governance matters.
Requirements:

4+ years of experience in governance, compliance, or risk management within commodities trading or banking (mandatory).

Strong understanding of corporate governance frameworks, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Excellent organization and project management skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, particularly with senior management.

Proficiency in governance tools, document management systems, and compliance software.

Fluency in English is required; Arabic is advantageous.
