Maryam Boutique is seeking a skilled and innovative Freelance Fashion Designer to lead the creative process for its Abaya and Jalabiya collections. This remote position offers full-time or part-time employment, catering to designers with a passion for blending cultural heritage with contemporary modest fashion.

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will bring a strong cultural appreciation combined with modern design sensibilities to create elegant and modest wear. You will be responsible for designing seasonal collections, developing concepts into final samples, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer appeal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design seasonal collections of Abayas, Jalabiyas, and modest wear, incorporating market research and cultural trends.

• Create detailed sketches and technical drawings, either by hand or digitally.

• Select appropriate fabrics, colors, embellishments, and trims suitable for the brand and climate.

• Supervise the production of samples and conduct fittings to ensure design accuracy.

• Make design modifications based on feedback to meet quality standards.

• Collaborate closely with tailoring and embroidery teams to execute designs precisely.

• Ensure timely development and completion of all design projects.

• Stay updated on regional fashion trends, customer preferences, and fabric sourcing.

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design or an equivalent qualification.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience designing modest wear, preferably Abayas or Jalabiyas.

• A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, modest fashion expertise, and garment construction skills.

• Sound knowledge of fabrics, embroidery, embellishments, and traditional design details.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other relevant fashion design software.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with a team.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
