Job Description

AIG is seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Lines Underwriter to join our team in Dubai. This role is ideal for an insurance professional with strong underwriting expertise, especially in Financial Lines, and a solid grasp of the MENA insurance market. The underwriter will focus on profitable portfolio management, risk assessment, and broker relationship development.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite Financial Lines accounts within defined limits following risk evaluation and pricing standards.

• Analyze submissions, evaluate risks, and apply rating tools to ensure accurate underwriting.

• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, regulatory frameworks, audit standards, and internal procedures.

• Support the Head of Financial Lines in achieving business development goals and account strategies.

• Manage policy issuance, documentation, and ensure accurate filing in compliance with company processes.

• Work closely with brokers and clients to understand risk needs and provide tailored insurance solutions.

• Conduct regular portfolio reviews and identify opportunities for growth and performance improvement.

• Participate in cross-functional collaboration with claims, actuarial, operations, and distribution teams.

• Stay up to date with market conditions, legal changes, and industry standards to maintain competitiveness.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of underwriting experience with a focus on Financial Lines.

• Deep knowledge of Financial Lines products and the MENA insurance landscape.

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant certifications preferred.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage broker and client relationships.

• Proficiency in risk assessment, pricing models, and legal contract interpretation.
