Job Title: Finance Specialist

Job Description:

We are hiring a Finance Specialist – Petroleum Trading to join a leading global enterprise headquartered in the UAE. With over four decades of success across petroleum trading, logistics, auto spare parts, solar energy distribution, and agro-strategic commodities, the company is seeking an experienced trade finance professional to strengthen its Dubai operations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for managing trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), bank guarantees, and other key financial operations. Your role will ensure the smooth, compliant, and cost-efficient execution of international petroleum trade transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Finance Execution:

  • Structure and process trade finance instruments including LCs, SBLCs, Documentary Collections, Bank Guarantees, and Trust Receipts.

  • Review, negotiate, and finalize LC terms with suppliers, buyers, and banks in alignment with trade agreements.

Bank Coordination & Compliance:

  • Manage the opening, amendment, and settlement of LCs and related instruments in accordance with UCP600, ISBP, and URC standards.

  • Monitor trade timelines, mitigate risks, and resolve documentation or settlement delays proactively.

Documentation & Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with trading, operations, and legal teams to validate trade documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and inspection certificates.

  • Ensure full compliance with finance policies, regulatory guidelines, and legal frameworks.

Treasury Support & Reporting:

  • Support treasury operations in maximizing working capital efficiency via trade finance instruments.

  • Maintain precise records of all transactions, charges, and exposures.

  • Assist in periodic reporting related to facility utilization, liquidity management, and trade finance exposures.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international banking partners.

  • Stay updated on evolving KYC, AML, and cross-border trade compliance regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (MBA or trade finance certification preferred).

  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience in trade finance, particularly within oil & gas, energy, or commodities trading sectors.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of UCP600, ISBP, URC, and Incoterms.

  • Familiarity with petroleum shipping and trade documentation practices is highly desirable.

  • Experience in working cross-functionally with trading, operations, legal, and external banking stakeholders.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple high-pressure transactions.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (CTRM or similar), and digital trade finance platforms.

  • Strong command of written and spoken English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
