Engineer I – Construction (AWP) – UAE National
Petrofac Sharjah , UAE

Petrofac, a global leader in engineering services for the energy industry, is hiring a Construction Engineer I (AWP) in Sharjah. This hybrid, full-time position is specifically for UAE Nationals and involves preparing and managing Construction and Installation Work Packages in alignment with Advance Work Packaging (AWP) practices. The role supports Petrofac’s mission of delivering cutting-edge solutions during the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed Work Packages (including drawings, materials, manpower, safety, and QA/QC measures).

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Material Management teams to ensure accurate input data.

  • Ensure effective implementation of AWP procedures on the project.

  • Analyze design documents to define work scopes and project requirements.

  • Prepare weekly progress reports covering IFC drawings and material delivery status.

  • Maintain backlog of approved Construction and Installation Work Packages (CWPs/IWPs).

  • Manage documentation linkage with EWP/CWP/IWP processes.

  • Track package life cycles and manage changes in the packaging program.

  • Conduct scoping sessions and clear constraints prior to package release.

  • Plan IWPs with scheduled timelines, integrate into Level 4 project schedules.

  • Estimate manpower and resources, verify with Construction teams.

  • Align IWPs with related inspection reports and billing elements (BOQ ID).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Engineering or Construction.

  • At least 1 year of hands-on AWP or project planning experience.

  • UAE National candidates only.

Work Environment & Culture:
