Job Description:
As an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist at Standard Chartered, you will play a key role in strengthening the connection between the organization and its employees. You’ll implement the local ER strategy aligned with global policies, support HR and leadership in resolving complex employee matters, and drive a positive, performance-oriented culture.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute country-specific ER strategies aligned with global standards, local laws, and business needs.

  • Engage with employee representative bodies (e.g., unions), manage negotiations, and support collective agreements where required.

  • Identify and mitigate employee-related risks, ensuring compliance in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.

  • Advise HRBPs and People Leaders on complex ER issues such as restructuring, redundancies, grievances, and disciplinary actions.

  • Deliver training to HR and leadership on ER procedures, legal updates, and best practices.

  • Support leadership teams with data and insights related to employee engagement and organizational culture.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in Employee Relations or as an HR Business Partner with strong generalist HR skills.

  • Knowledge of UAE labor laws and experience managing compliance in regulated environments.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and consulting skills with the ability to influence and guide leaders.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential investigations.

  • Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.

  • Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and risk mitigation capabilities.

  • Adaptable, collaborative, and effective in international and cross-cultural environments.
