Join Eaton’s global innovation team as a Senior Embedded Linux Systems Architect, where you’ll lead the design and development of advanced embedded platforms for next-gen HMI/PLC solutions. You will work closely with our Automation & Digital Solutions team, playing a key role in defining Linux-based architecture using the Yocto Project.

As part of our newly announced sustainable Dubai campus, you’ll be at the heart of transformation, innovation, and energy efficiency for industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and lead embedded Linux system design for XV product lines.

• Define system specs and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

• Develop custom Linux distributions using Yocto; manage build systems and package dependencies.

• Lead BSP (Board Support Package) and device driver development.

• Integrate hardware and software platforms with optimal performance and reliability.

• Ensure system security and adherence to cybersecurity standards.

• Drive continuous improvement, agile practices, and innovation across embedded product lines.

• Support project planning, estimation, and technical documentation.

• Troubleshoot, profile, and optimize embedded applications.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

• 8–10 years of experience in embedded Linux development and architecture.

• Strong background in RTOS, Yocto, BSP, kernel development, and system design.

• Proficient with version control systems (Git), unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experienced in M2M protocols: TCP/IP, MQTT, REST, SNMP, Modbus.

• Familiarity with embedded hardware (MPUs/MCUs) and secure data protocols.

• Agile/Scrum experience preferred.

• Fluent in English, with strong communication and leadership skills.
