The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day distribution and transport operations across the UAE, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods. This role manages route planning, fleet utilization, driver supervision, cost control, and regulatory compliance, while coordinating closely with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to achieve high delivery performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Operations Management

• Supervise daily transportation activities including dispatching, routing, and fleet monitoring

• Allocate vehicles in coordination with warehouse and distribution teams

• Monitor vehicle movement using GPS and Transport Management Systems (TMS) to ensure route and schedule compliance

Route Planning & Optimization

• Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize fleet utilization and reduce delivery lead time

• Analyze delivery zones to improve route efficiency and fuel consumption

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Lead, manage, and train a team of 50+ drivers, maintaining productivity, discipline, and morale

• Monitor driver attendance, performance, and compliance with company policies

Cost Control & Performance Monitoring

• Control transportation costs including fuel, overtime, and maintenance

• Track transport KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs

Fleet Management

• Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy, properly maintained, and compliant with UAE regulations

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with internal or external service providers

Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure accurate completion of delivery notes, transport logs, and vehicle checklists

• Maintain compliance with RTA, Police, Insurance, and other UAE regulatory requirements

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce safety standards for driving behavior, loading/unloading, and emergency procedures

• Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for drivers

Customer Service & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure on-time deliveries and issue resolution

• Address delivery-related complaints promptly to maintain service quality

Additional Duties

• Perform other operational tasks as assigned by the Operations Supervisor

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport or distribution supervision
  (FMCG, trading, or logistics background preferred)

• Strong knowledge of UAE road networks and logistics regulations

• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and route optimization tools

• Proven ability to manage large driver teams and vehicle fleets

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (MBC, Sage, Oracle, etc.)

• Valid UAE Driving License

• Languages: English and Hindi (required); Arabic is an advantage
