Murdoch University Dubai is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Discipline Lead for its Foundation Program. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for an academic leader with a passion for teaching, curriculum development, student engagement, and academic coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination:

• Oversee the daily academic and administrative functions of the Foundation program.

• Support academic administration in coordination with Murdoch University’s Australia campus.

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and other learning activities.

• Advise on trimester teaching allocations and provide academic leadership to affiliate lecturers.

• Ensure academic quality through student engagement, problem-solving, and program support.

• Provide student guidance on program progression, academic policies, and unit matters.

• Assist in exam planning, invigilation, and marking in collaboration with Dubai and Perth exam teams.

• Participate in university boards, committees, outreach, and promotional events.

• Maintain effective academic and administrative relationships and promote the program in Dubai.

• Support research initiatives and contribute to recruitment strategies.

Teaching and Learning:

• Conduct high-quality lectures, tutorials, and assessments.

• Engage in moderation and consultation processes with Perth campus.

• Apply current pedagogical and learning theory knowledge.

• Participate in professional development for both teaching and discipline advancement.

Other Duties:

• Undertake tasks as assigned by the Dubai Dean relevant to academic leadership and institutional support.

Qualifications & Selection Criteria:

Essential:

• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline; PhD strongly preferred.

• Proven experience in tertiary-level teaching, curriculum design, and academic coordination.

• Ability to innovate and apply scholarly approaches to pedagogy.

• Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal collaboration.

• Demonstrated academic leadership and support to junior faculty or staff.

• Evidence of significant research output and initiative.

Desirable:

• Experience in a multicultural educational environment.

• Familiarity with both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in higher education.
