GEMS Westminster School – Ras Al Khaimah (WSR), part of the prestigious GEMS Education network, is currently seeking a Director of Learning – Mathematics to join their dynamic team from August 2025. This full-time, on-site leadership role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator to shape teaching and learning strategies in mathematics across a key stage, ensuring high standards of academic excellence and staff development.

GEMS WSR offers the internationally recognized National Curriculum for England, guiding students through Early Years Foundation Stage to Grade 12, and preparing them for IGCSE and A Level Examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the mathematics department, driving continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

• Support the extended Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in implementing whole-school policies and staff development.

• Oversee curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment strategies within the Key Stage.

• Analyze teaching outcomes and provide regular reports to the SLT.

• Lead the mathematics team in delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum.

• Support and mentor teachers through professional development and performance management.

• Ensure academic standards, assessment, and moderation requirements are met.

• Promote inclusive education, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.

• Establish strong relationships with parents and the school community.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven teaching experience in (I)GCSE and A Level Mathematics.

• Demonstrated success in raising student attainment and improving academic outcomes.

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a middle or senior leadership role.

• Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and pedagogy.

• Exceptional communication, leadership, and people management skills.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

• PGCE or QTS from a UK-accredited institution.
