GEMS Education is seeking a Design & Technology (DET) Educational Assistant to join its team in Dubai with an immediate start. The successful candidate will support the DET department by assisting teachers and students in workshops and labs, ensuring technical equipment is maintained, and helping foster a creative learning environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, technology, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support DET department culture, encouraging innovation and creativity.

• Provide technical assistance to students during lessons and projects.

• Assist with setup, preparation, and maintenance of DET workshops and labs.

• Operate and support equipment including 3D printers, CNC router, and laser cutters (training provided).

• Ensure safe working practices and maintain tools, machines, and materials.

• Troubleshoot minor technical issues with software and hardware.

• Manage inventory, order supplies, and organize consumables.

• Support displays of student work, project logistics, and departmental events.

• Maintain workshop and classroom cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in education or DET.

• Strong knowledge of Design & Technology with hands-on technical skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
