Job Summary:
AKI is seeking a Demand Planner (Medlab) to join its Dubai-based team. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for forecasting product demand and optimizing inventory for a broad portfolio of medical and laboratory supplies. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, proactive, and experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high service levels while minimizing excess inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting & Planning

Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for Medlab’s product categories including instruments, reagents, and consumables.

Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and external factors to forecast demand accurately.

Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to integrate promotions and market insights into forecasts.

Monitor forecast accuracy and take corrective actions to improve performance.
Inventory Management

Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet service targets and minimize obsolete stock.

Coordinate with procurement to ensure stock availability aligns with forecasted demand.

Set and manage safety stock thresholds and reorder points for key SKUs.
Data Analysis & Reporting

Utilize ERP systems and demand planning tools (SAP APO, Oracle Demantra) to analyze consumption and inventory turnover.

Generate reports on forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory health for internal stakeholders.

Provide insights for strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with supply chain, logistics, and procurement to ensure seamless product availability.

Contribute to Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) discussions to align supply and demand.

Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturers regarding forecast communication and lead time management.
Process Improvement

Identify and implement enhancements in demand planning processes and systems.

Drive best practices in forecasting, reporting, and inventory optimization to support operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.

2–3+ years of experience in demand planning or supply chain roles, preferably in the medical or healthcare sector.

Proficiency in planning systems such as SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, data analysis tools).

Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordination.

Ability to adapt to market shifts and adjust forecasts and strategies accordingly.
