GMG is seeking a Retail Data / Business Analyst to join its dynamic sports retail operations team in Dubai. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for candidates with strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of retail KPIs, and a passion for the sports retail industry. The role is pivotal in monitoring performance metrics, supporting operational decisions, and delivering actionable insights that enhance sales, customer engagement, and overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance & KPI Analysis:

Track and analyze store and category performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Monitor retail KPIs: conversion rate, ATV (Average Transaction Value), UPT (Units Per Transaction), and sales per square foot.

Conduct sales vs. stock analysis to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize stock imbalances.

Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel for clear data presentation to stakeholders.

Support budgeting and forecasting with data-backed performance insights.
Incentives & Operational Support:

Manage and track individual and team sales incentives, ensuring timely and accurate payouts.

Collaborate with store teams, merchandising, and supply chain departments to streamline workflows.

Provide trend-based insights into sales, inventory, and customer buying patterns for operational improvement.
Market Research & Consumer Insights:

Conduct market research and competitor analysis within the sports retail sector.

Analyze customer demographics and purchasing behavior to guide product and marketing strategies.

Recommend data-driven strategies to boost customer engagement and maximize store performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of overall experience, with at least 2–3 years in retail analytics, business performance, or data/business analysis in the retail sector.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel.

Advanced Excel skills including VBA Macro development for automation and data modeling.

Knowledge of key retail metrics such as sell-through, markdowns, and inventory turnover.

Strong data visualization and financial modeling skills.
Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and storytelling abilities to convey data insights effectively.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multiple departments.

Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage large datasets and multiple KPIs.
