Role Overview

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Estimator / Estimation Engineer to support cost planning and budgeting for exhibition stands and event build projects. The role involves analyzing designs, drawings, and specifications to deliver accurate, timely, and commercially viable cost estimates.

The successful candidate will work closely with sales, operations, fabricators, and suppliers to ensure project costings are competitive, precise, and aligned with market rates and internal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Review design visuals, technical drawings, and project specifications for exhibitions and events.

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for materials, equipment, labor, and outsourced services.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates using internal templates, factoring in materials, resources, logistics, and subcontracting.

• Submit estimates within defined timelines, maintaining a maximum 10% variance in line with market conditions.

• Develop, maintain, and update a supplier and vendor database, negotiating rate cards and preferential pricing.

• Apply standard markup margins (30%) in accordance with internal SESM/VP guidelines.

• Prepare professional quotations and cost breakdowns for Sales, Operations, and management teams.

• Coordinate with stand fabricators, contractors, and relevant suppliers to validate pricing and availability.

• Prepare preliminary budget estimates for senior management review prior to contract award.

• Work extended computer-based hours when required to meet tight project deadlines.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably within exhibitions, events, fit-out, or construction.

• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, CAD, and estimation processes.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt to unsociable working hours when required.

• High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Salary

AED 6,000 – 7,000 per month, inclusive of fixed allowances (based on experience).
