Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis II to join their Food and Beverage & Culinary team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food quality, and kitchen operations.

Role Overview:
The Commis II is responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes according to standards, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting the kitchen team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing food.

  • Cook and present food according to recipes and quality standards.

  • Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, microwaves, fryers, and grills.

  • Monitor food quality and test food for doneness.

  • Set up and break down workstations efficiently.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, tools, and equipment.

  • Follow safety, security, and hygiene standards at all times.

  • Assist in checking appliance temperatures and food safety.

  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold company confidentiality.

  • Build positive working relationships with team members and support team goals.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of related culinary work experience.

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • No supervisory experience required.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a culinary setting preferred.

License or Certification:

  • None required.
