Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commis 1 to join our culinary team at Sheraton Mall of the Emirates Hotel. The ideal candidate will support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to quality standards, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in the smooth functioning of food preparation activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and portion ingredients for cooking including fruits, vegetables, meats, and cold foods.

Cook food according to standardized recipes, quality and presentation standards.

Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and stoves.

Test food to ensure it is cooked properly and meets taste/texture expectations.

Monitor food quality during preparation.

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area, tools, and equipment.

Follow safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

Set up and break down workstation efficiently.

Assist in other tasks as requested by supervisors.
Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a professional kitchen setting.

Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.

Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions accurately.

Good communication and team collaboration skills.
-
Physically fit to perform duties including standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
