Role Overview

PETCHEM DMCC is seeking an experienced Chemical Sales Representative with strong exposure to physical petrochemical and chemical trading. This role focuses on managing commercial sales activities, developing profitable trading opportunities, and expanding regional and international market presence.

The successful candidate will combine commercial acumen, market analysis expertise, and hands-on trading experience, working closely with trading, logistics, and operations teams to drive profitability and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Trading

  • Manage and grow a profitable chemical and petrochemical sales and trading portfolio through sound commercial strategies.

  • Identify and execute new sales and trading opportunities to support business expansion.

  • Negotiate sales contracts, pricing structures, and commercial terms with customers and suppliers.

  • Initiate and lead marketing and trading activities with third-party suppliers to maximize margins.

  • Support physical and derivatives trading teams with market intelligence and commercial insights.

Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor global and regional petrochemical market trends, supply-demand dynamics, pricing movements, and product specifications.

  • Conduct quantitative, qualitative, and technical market analysis covering petrochemicals, refined products, and related commodities.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly market and performance reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Act as an internal commercial and analytical reference point across sales and trading teams.

Operations & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Administer internal purchasing, inventory, and logistics systems.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records across warehouses, including surplus and residual volumes.

  • Track orders throughout the full cycle—from purchase through delivery and invoicing.

  • Coordinate closely with logistics, shipping, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in line with company standards and compliance requirements.

Relationship Management & Market Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure effective communication between sales, trading, logistics, and operations functions.

  • Lead regional sales initiatives and expand PETCHEM DMCC’s footprint across MENA and international markets.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical trading and distribution.

  • Proven hands-on experience with physical petrochemical products in regional and international markets.

  • Prior experience in B2B sales or trading within the chemical or oil & gas sector.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial evaluation skills.

  • Solid understanding of global petroleum and petrochemical markets.

  • Knowledge of refinery production processes, shipping documentation, logistics, and trade finance.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.

  • Relationship-driven mindset with a collaborative and adaptable approach.

Education & Language

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Fluent English (spoken and written) is required.

  • Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
