Saipem, a global leader in engineering and energy services, is hiring a UAE National for the role of Junior Coating Engineer. This full-time, on-site position is based in Abu Dhabi and offers an opportunity for a Chemical Engineering graduate to contribute to coating selection, application, and quality control across EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. The role supports Saipem’s mission of delivering sustainable, innovative solutions across offshore and onshore infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in selecting and specifying appropriate coating systems for different materials and environments

• Review technical documents including coating specifications, standards (ISO, NACE, SSPC), and drawings

• Support planning and execution of surface preparation and coating application activities

• Monitor quality of surface preparation (blasting, cleaning, priming) and ensure proper coating application

• Assist in inspections using tools like Dry Film Thickness (DFT) gauges, adhesion testers, and holiday detectors

• Generate reports on coating conditions, non-conformities, and suggest corrective measures

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering

• UAE National (mandatory requirement)

• Knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation techniques, and industry standards is an advantage

• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn coating inspection tools and procedures

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Ability to work on-site and adapt to project needs
