Job Title: CAMO Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAMO Engineer to oversee the technical management and airworthiness of CFM56 engines within our operational fleet. This role is vital in ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance, engine health, and optimal operational reliability through close coordination with CAMO teams, Flight Operations, Line Maintenance, MROs, and Engine Shops.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, practical engine performance analysis, and hands-on experience with engine shop visits and planning. This is a dynamic role that connects technical engineering with operational efficiency and long-term fleet reliability.

Job Purpose:
To manage all aspects of engine airworthiness and maintenance compliance by integrating engineering analysis, technical records, defect management, and shop visit planning, while ensuring the continued airworthiness and operational reliability of engines in the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

🔧 CAMO Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and OEM instructions related to CFM56 engines

  • Monitor and manage engine systems and documentation to align with regulatory standards (EASA Part-M/Part-CAMO)

  • Analyze engine conditions and system performance; support troubleshooting and recommend approved corrective actions

  • Review and maintain technical records to ensure traceability, completeness, and regulatory adherence

  • Validate work orders (WOs), deferral decisions, and Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) in compliance with procedures

  • Participate in reliability programs, monitor technical trends, and recommend preventive or corrective actions

  • Coordinate with operators for defect reporting, system checks, and next-step planning

🔧 Engine Shop Responsibilities:

  • Plan, define, and manage engine shop visits in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (CAMO, MCC, MROs)

  • Develop detailed engine workscopes based on performance data, maintenance history, and cost considerations

  • Review engine teardown reports, shop findings, and component condition reports for future maintenance optimization

  • Monitor engine performance using trend monitoring tools and initiate investigations for abnormal data

  • Forecast engine removals, LLP replacements, and module overhauls, and maintain accurate tracking

  • Ensure engine components are installed or removed per CAMO-approved documentation and regulations

  • Analyze engine event data (e.g. bird strikes, lightning, hard landings) and coordinate required follow-up actions

  • Liaise with OEMs and MROs for technical guidance, repair validation, and cost-effective component management

  • Support the development of an efficient Engine Health Monitoring strategy and improve engine time-on-wing

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering

  • 5–7 years of CAMO experience, with specific expertise in CFM56 engines

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, reliability analysis, and technical records management

  • Hands-on experience with engine shop visits, engine teardown reviews, and component evaluations

  • Knowledge of EASA Part-M, Part-CAMO, Part-145, and CAMO regulatory frameworks

  • Skilled in preparing engineering orders, SB assessments, and modification justifications

  • Proficient in maintenance tracking systems and analysis tools

  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
