Business Development Representative

Groupon is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help grow local businesses by building partnerships with small-sized merchants. This role involves cold calling, negotiating contracts, and driving market growth. The ideal candidate will receive professional sales training and be supported in growing their sales career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Seek new business opportunities by targeting small merchants through cold calls and social selling

  • Develop familiarity with each merchant’s business to drive profitable outcomes

  • Take ownership of contract negotiation and deal structuring

  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets

  • Ensure a smooth transition for merchants post-sale and align with Merchant Development teams

  • Drive market growth and improve merchant quality

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

  • 2-3 years of success in sales roles, with inside sales experience preferred

  • Proven knowledge and experience in transactional selling and relationship management

  • Strong sales orientation and ability to meet quotas

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools a plus
