MetLife Gulf is hiring an AVP, Head of Government Relations to lead advocacy efforts across five Gulf markets: UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Based in Dubai in a hybrid setup, this senior role supports business growth and regulatory alignment by representing MetLife’s interests with government entities, regulators, and trade associations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary advisor to EMEA GR leadership and regional partners on public policy matters.

• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and trade associations.

• Track and analyze regulatory developments; communicate impacts and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

• Develop policy positions and coordinate responses to legislation or regulatory proposals.

• Represent MetLife in regional forums, associations, and business groups.

• Align local advocacy efforts with global MetLife policy and compliance teams.

• Collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance departments for cohesive policy execution.

• Identify and act on opportunities or risks within the Gulf’s political and regulatory environment.

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy.

• Deep knowledge of political and regulatory frameworks in the Gulf region.

• Excellent writing, speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Financial services or insurance industry experience preferred.

• Familiarity with Arabic language and Gulf market nuances is highly advantageous.

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in International Relations or a related field preferred.
