Job Description
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for the role of Performing Arts Coordinator at the Associate Professor rank or higher, starting August 2025. This leadership position is part of a vibrant, multicultural Performing Arts Program, serving students from over 90 nationalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee production of all Theatre and Music performances

• Teach a 2-1 course load in an area of expertise in Music or Theatre

• Collaboratively develop and implement strategic goals for the Performing Arts minors, with future potential for major programs

• Lead curriculum development and revision

• Encourage and support faculty and student research and creative projects

• Manage program budget, faculty assessments, course scheduling, and teaching assignments

• Serve on the Dean of Arts and Sciences Executive Council

• Act as liaison between Performing Arts faculty and university administration

Required Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Music or Theatre (PhD, DMA, or MFA)

• Extensive record of service, research, and creative activity

• Earned rank of Associate Professor or higher

• Significant teaching experience in higher education

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Arts Administration role

• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
