Job Title: Assistant Purchasing Manager
Job Description:
Join the iconic Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, part of the Rare Finds collection – a one-of-a-kind destination celebrating the cultural soul of Dubai. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Purchasing Manager to support the procurement operations of our legendary resort.
In this role, you will work closely with the Purchasing Manager to oversee daily procurement activities, ensure cost-effective sourcing, maintain optimal inventory levels, and foster strong supplier relationships. You’ll also lead and support a team to ensure smooth execution of procurement strategies, while upholding the highest standards of service and operational excellence in a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts.

Evaluate supplier bids based on cost, quality, and reliability to recommend the best purchasing decisions.

Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers and sourcing opportunities.

Monitor contract compliance and resolve supplier performance issues.

Prepare and issue accurate purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt.

Analyze inventory levels and coordinate procurement to maintain stock availability and reduce waste.

Recommend and implement improvements to purchasing procedures for efficiency and cost reduction.

Maintain up-to-date supplier records and lead performance reviews.

Supervise and train junior procurement staff and support their development within the team.

Stay informed on market trends, new products, and innovations in supply chain and logistics.

Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build vendor networks.

Report procurement activities, pending contracts, and key metrics to senior management.

Support recruitment and onboarding of new staff; conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary procedures as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Certifications such as CPP or APICS are an advantage.

3–5 years of professional experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in hospitality or luxury industries.

Experience leading or managing a team of buyers or procurement staff.

Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and procurement software.
-
High attention to detail with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
