Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager – Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to oversee the operations and maintenance of GSE workshop activities. This role involves supervising all phases of maintenance planning, inspection, and repair of ground support equipment and vehicles. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to safety and technical standards, maintain documentation for audits, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations. The position is critical for maintaining operational readiness and safety compliance across airport GSE activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise maintenance, inspection, and repair of GSE and related vehicles.

  • Coordinate daily work assignments, manpower planning, and scheduling of maintenance procedures.

  • Liaise with maintenance control, inspection teams, and lead mechanics to ensure progress and resolve delays.

  • Oversee the methods and techniques used for inspections, servicing, and repairs of equipment.

  • Work closely with Procurement, Operations, and Training teams to streamline maintenance processes.

  • Ensure availability and proper use of tools, spare parts, and materials for scheduled work.

  • Monitor tool storage, maintenance, and arrange for necessary repairs or replacements.

  • Conduct performance checks to ensure compliance with work standards and safety regulations.

  • Prepare staff briefings, internal correspondence, and maintenance reports.

  • Address workshop issues and ensure timely resolution to meet scheduled deadlines.

  • Enforce fire safety and general safety practices within the workshop.

  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and enforce good housekeeping standards.

  • Report incidents or violations affecting safety, security, or company reputation to superiors.

Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • In-depth technical knowledge of GSE maintenance and repair processes.

  • Ability to manage cross-functional coordination and team supervision.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Attention to detail and understanding of safety and compliance standards.

  • Good communication skills for report writing and internal coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant technical or engineering qualification in mechanical, automotive, or aviation-related field.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in GSE or airport vehicle maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
