The Assistant Manager – Curator at Green Planet will manage and supervise the Curatorial department, overseeing the welfare of plants and animals, operational performance, and guest experience. This full-time, on-site role requires expertise in animal and plant care, exhibit design, and team management, with a focus on safety, conservation, and education.
Responsibilities:

Manage, support, and supervise the Curatorial department and all operational areas affecting the welfare of animals and plants.

Oversee medical treatments, medical records, and quarantine processes.

Liaise professionally with local and international authorities.

Supervise personnel involved in animal care, facility, and exhibit maintenance.

Monitor life support systems and coordinate operational upgrades, collaborating with Facilities teams.

Improve animal exhibits, animal welfare, conservation, educational opportunities, and guest experience.

Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards as per Dubai Municipality rules.

Manage emergency situations to minimize damage, loss, or injury.

Develop policies and procedures for animal operations, life support, and exhibits.

Train, coach, and discipline the Curatorial team to enhance performance and skills.
Qualifications & Skills:

Degree in wildlife/marine biology, horticulture, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Proven aptitude in developing exhibit designs.
-
Experience in horticulture, botany, or animal biology, preferably in tropical rainforest environments.

Familiarity with plant and animal welfare standards in live exhibits.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Good command of English; Arabic language skills are a plus.

3+ years of relevant experience in managing a team and working with local authorities.
