Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is seeking a Part-Time Animal Caretaker for its Ungulates team in Dubai. This role involves hands-on animal care, ensuring the well-being of hoofed animals, engaging with visitors, and maintaining the zoo environment. Ideal for those passionate about wildlife conservation and animal management.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily animal husbandry and medical care for ungulates.

Observe, monitor, and report animal behavior and health conditions.

Maintain detailed records of animal weight, health, enrichment, and training.
-
Assist in habitat maintenance and renovations, including the use of power tools.
-
Implement and document goal-based enrichment activities.
-
Participate in animal training programs and public presentations.
-
Educate and interact with visitors, providing an engaging guest experience.

Collaborate with other zoo departments to support conservation efforts.
-
Respond to safety-related issues and drills.

Drive motor vehicles within the zoo premises, including during animal transport.
Qualifications & Skills Required:

Minimum Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
-
Experience: At least one (1) year of paid experience in an AZA-accredited facility or relevant unpaid AZA internships.

Certifications:
-
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license (within 30 days of hire).

Completion of OKC Zoo Learning Management System (LMS) training within six months.

Other Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in a zoo setting year-round.

Subject to background checks, drug testing, and tuberculosis testing.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
