Adult – Trauma PIPS Coordinator – Operations Management

Job Summary:
SSMC is seeking a qualified and driven Adult – Trauma PIPS Coordinator to join its Operations Management team. This full-time, on-site role is vital to improving the clinical outcomes for adult trauma patients. Reporting to the Trauma Program Manager, the coordinator will manage and enhance the trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for quality care in trauma services.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Improvement & Quality Management:

  • Coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the adult trauma PIPS program.

  • Conduct readiness assessments, analyze trauma cases, and develop action plans based on performance data.

  • Review trauma registry data, identify care trends, and participate in performance audits.

  • Update the trauma PIPS plan annually and contribute to clinical guideline development.

Program Leadership:

  • Serve as the technical expert for the trauma program.

  • Provide guidance to all involved in the program and evaluate staff performance.

  • Report program progress and recommendations to senior leadership.

Service Delivery:

  • Lead and participate in case reviews and implementation of practice guidelines.

  • Ensure alignment with service excellence standards in internal and external collaborations.

  • Partner with stakeholders to enhance trauma outcomes and program performance.

Communication:

  • Develop and manage internal and external communications related to the trauma program.

  • Prepare presentations, facilitate cross-functional teams, and support process improvements.

Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Participate in hospital-wide quality, leadership, and research initiatives.

  • Collaborate with operations managers on trauma registry design to support performance improvement and confidentiality.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and development of trauma services.

Research & Development:

  • Support the trauma research program in collaboration with the Research Coordinator.

  • Engage with internal and external partners to promote trauma-related research opportunities.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field (e.g., BSN or other medical/para-medical degree).

  • Current national healthcare license.

  • Minimum 2 years of trauma care experience.

  • Evidence of continuing medical education (CME).

Preferred:

  • Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement Course (to be completed within 6 months).

  • Additional certifications: TNCC/ATCN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, Quality Management, ICD Coding, CAIS/CSTR.

  • Injury Scaling Certification (AIS15) or Trauma Program Manager Course is a plus.
