We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Coordinator – Shipping to support end-to-end accounting operations within a dynamic shipping and freight environment. The role involves managing accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, reconciliations, VAT support, and financial reporting while coordinating closely with internal departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.

This position is ideal for professionals with strong accounting fundamentals, UAE experience, and exposure to shipping or logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Operations

• Coordinate with internal departments (shipping, transport, maintenance, storage, etc.) to gather required information for revenue invoicing

• Raise accurate revenue invoices through the invoicing system

• Create and maintain vendor and customer master data

• Prepare accounts receivable ageing reports and track outstanding invoices

• Follow up on receivables and support timely collections

Accounts Payable & Cost Control

• Manage accounts payable, including supplier statement reconciliation and payment arrangements

• Review cost analysis to ensure correct allocation to product and cost codes

• Reconcile sales invoices and ensure proper posting between invoicing and accounting systems

Reporting, VAT & Compliance

• Support the preparation and computation of UAE VAT returns

• Maintain accurate financial records while safeguarding confidential information

• Assist with monthly accruals, prepaid expense reconciliations, depreciation, and IT/personnel cost allocations

• Support balance sheet and profit & loss reconciliations and consolidation in reporting systems

Month-End & Management Reporting

• Assist in the month-end closing process

• Support the line manager in preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts

• Contribute to variance analysis, forecasts, and annual budgeting processes

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Minimum 4 years of UAE-based accounting experience (preferred)

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Word, including complex spreadsheets

• Experience in shipping, logistics, or multinational organizations is a strong advantage

• Prior exposure to financial systems and business intelligence tools

• Working knowledge of IFRS Lease accounting is an added advantage

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: AED 7,500 per month (inclusive of fixed allowances)
