Role Overview

AFRY is seeking a skilled 11 kV Switchgear Engineer to lead testing and commissioning activities for switchgear and capacitor bank systems within DEWA substation projects. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, detail-oriented, and experienced in high-voltage electrical systems, with a strong background working on DEWA-approved projects in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of 11 kV switchgear and capacitor bank systems.

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and DEWA regulations.

• Analyze system performance and resolve issues efficiently.

• Collaborate with engineering and site teams to ensure project quality.

• Travel to project sites for on-site execution as required.

• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and technical records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• Minimum 5 years’ experience on DEWA substation projects in the UAE

• Proven hands-on experience with 11 kV switchgear commissioning

• DEWA approval is mandatory

• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and report writing abilities

• Proficiency in MS Office and presentation tools

• UAE driving license is advantageous
