Outlier is looking for talented Japanese writers who can help train generative AI models by providing human feedback. This is a remote, freelance position with flexible working hours, so you can work whenever is best for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Evaluation: Read Japanese text and rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.

• Creative Writing: Write short stories in Japanese based on given topics.

• Fact-Checking: Assess the factual accuracy of Japanese text generated by an AI model.

Desired Expertise

• Professional Experience: Experience as a professional translator or writer (copywriter, journalist, technical writer, editor, etc.).

• Education: Enrollment in or completion of an undergraduate program in humanities or a related field, or enrollment in/ completion of a graduate program in creative writing.

• Skills: Proficiency in Japanese and excellent writing skills are essential.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: Average pay is approximately USD 31 per hour for core project work.

• Variable Rates: Rates may vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project needs, and other factors.

• Additional Benefits: Incentive payments may be available for certain projects. Lower rates may apply for non-core work, such as project onboarding or overtime.
