About the Role

A leading distributor of premium interior and exterior surfacing materials is seeking an experienced Specification Engineer – Technical Sales to join its growing Dubai team.

This is a client-facing, technical role requiring strong presentation skills and the ability to advise architects, consultants, designers, and project stakeholders on material performance, compliance, and design suitability. The role bridges technical expertise with commercial awareness to drive product specification and project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular visits to architects, consultants, designers, and specifiers to present product samples and technical solutions

• Demonstrate material performance characteristics, installation methods, and compliance standards

• Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and tender documents to ensure accurate product selection

• Prepare detailed technical submissions and compliant specification packages

• Recommend suitable material alternatives, thickness adjustments, and cost-effective solutions while maintaining design intent and regulatory compliance

• Coordinate mock-ups, test certificates, and all required technical documentation for project approvals

• Support the sales team by ensuring products are specified at the pre-tender stage

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline

• 3–7 years of experience in specification engineering, technical sales, or a similar client-facing technical role within the building materials sector

• Strong knowledge of surfacing materials, architectural panels, finishes, or construction products

• Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

• Ability to analyze technical drawings and tender documentation
