Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to take ownership of the buying strategy for a complex luxury portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping assortments, driving commercial performance, and delivering compelling product stories that resonate with regional consumers across omnichannel platforms.
The Senior Buyer will lead buying activities end-to-end, manage Open-to-Buy (OTB), and play a key role in developing high-performing buying teams while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Buying Strategy & Commercial Ownership

Lead the buying strategy and OTB planning across assigned categories and brands

Manage a complex portfolio of luxury brands with full commercial accountability

Plan, select, and buy product ranges that balance creativity, trend relevance, and commercial performance

Identify and introduce innovative merchandise, new concepts, and exclusive products to drive growth and customer acquisition

Influence and challenge OTB creation, ensuring optimal spend and return

Analyse sales performance, sell-through, stock turn, and margin to drive informed business decisions

Take ownership of gross margin performance, markdown strategy, and stock liquidation
Buying Execution & Stakeholder Management

Actively participate in buys, product selection, and order quantification

Present seasonal buys, strategies, and performance reviews to senior management and store teams

Work closely with marketing, visual merchandising, store operations, supply chain, and e-commerce teams to ensure cohesive execution

Maintain strong supplier relationships and lead commercial negotiations, including stock swaps, RTVs, and markdown contributions

Monitor global fashion and luxury trends, competitive activity, and market movements to inform buying decisions
Team Leadership & Development

Develop and mentor the buying team, empowering them to take full ownership of their business areas

Foster a culture of accountability, commercial curiosity, and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
-
5–7 years’ experience in luxury buying within a retail or wholesale environment

Strong commercial and analytical capability with confidence interpreting sales data and KPIs
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

Excellent communication and presentation abilities
-
Passion for luxury, trends, and product storytelling
-
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrix organisation
