Public Relations Officer (PRO)

We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Officer (PRO) to manage all government relations, compliance, and employee work permit processes across Jebel Ali, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain operations.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with UAE governmental procedures, free zone authorities, immigration and labor departments, and a proactive approach to compliance and documentation. The PRO will act as the primary liaison between the company and relevant authorities, ensuring smooth approvals and uninterrupted business operations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Government Liaison & Compliance

  • Act as the main point of contact with government authorities across Jebel Ali, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain

  • Manage approvals, permits, licenses, and registrations required for company operations

  • Ensure full compliance with UAE federal and local regulations

  • Monitor changes in government laws and policies impacting business activities and advise management accordingly

2. Work Permit & Immigration Management

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of employee work permits, including:

    • New work permit applications

    • Renewals and extensions

    • Cancellations and visa exits

  • Coordinate with HR and relevant authorities to ensure timely processing and compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of visa applications, approvals, renewals, and expiry dates

  • Liaise with immigration and labor departments to resolve work permit or visa-related issues

3. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with:

    • Immigration and labor departments

    • Free zone authorities

    • Other government entities and local authorities

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare, submit, and track official documentation, licenses, permits, and correspondence

  • Maintain organized records for audits, inspections, and internal reporting

  • Provide regular status updates and reports on government approvals and work permit processes

5. Regulatory Communication

  • Ensure timely communication of company updates, changes, and regulatory requirements to relevant authorities

6. Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to support administrative and regulatory requirements

  • Advise internal stakeholders on government procedures, compliance matters, and documentation requirements


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ PRO experience in the UAE, covering multiple Emirates

  • Strong working knowledge of UAE labor laws, immigration regulations, and government procedures

  • Proven experience managing work permits (new, renewals, and cancellations)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage)

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities

  • Strong networking ability with government departments and regulatory bodies

  • Proficient in MS Office and document management systems


Additional Requirements

  • Must hold a valid UAE driving license

  • Must have own car

  • Willingness to travel frequently between Jebel Ali, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain
