Accountant

Chalhoub Group is seeking a motivated and analytical Accountant to support financial reporting and month-end close activities across its luxury retail operations. This role represents a shift from purely transactional accounting toward value-added financial analysis and business support, offering strong exposure to stakeholders and decision-making processes.

The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned entities, ensure the integrity of financial data, and contribute to a finance function that supports growth, performance, and operational excellence across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month-end closing activities for assigned legal entities

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations

• Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of open items

• Perform P&L variance analysis and provide clear, insightful explanations

• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, including IFRS 16

• Support internal and external audit processes and respond to audit queries

• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and summaries using Excel and PowerPoint

• Collaborate with Shared Services, Commercial, and Finance teams to drive issue resolution

• Act as a custodian of accounts, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accountability

• Contribute to the transition from bookkeeping-driven processes to analysis-led finance support

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 1–2 years of accounting experience

• ACCA qualification or other relevant accounting certification – preferred

• Experience in a retail or high-volume environment – preferred

• Prior audit experience, ideally from a Big 4 or leading audit firm – an advantage

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial data

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and ownership-driven mindset

• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems – preferred
