About the Role

As a Senior Shipping Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all documentation and operational processes related to import and export shipments. This role requires strong technical knowledge of shipping regulations, freight processes, and compliance standards to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods across borders.

You will act as a subject-matter expert within the shipping function, supporting business operations through accurate execution, vendor coordination, and continuous compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute import and export shipments in line with business requirements

• Prepare, obtain, and process all shipping and customs documentation

• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international trade regulations

• Execute shipping services according to approved processes, timelines, and service levels

• Verify freight forwarder invoices against agreed rate cards and contracts

• Ensure all shipments are adequately insured and covered

• Investigate, manage, and close shipment-related claims

• Maintain accurate shipment records and performance metrics in internal systems

• Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders

• Identify, investigate, and report any breaches in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards, as well as company policies and security procedures

• Proven knowledge of import and export operations

• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination

• Strong understanding of customs documentation and freight processes

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously

• Clear communication skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset
