FORMO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Formwork Design Engineer to join its technical team in Dubai. The role is ideal for a structural engineer with strong expertise in formwork and shoring system design, reinforced concrete structures, and GCC project experience.

This position offers clear technical leadership responsibility with a defined growth path toward Technical Manager, based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Engineering

• Perform structural analysis for formwork and shoring systems.

• Design and validate systems including:

  • Steel walers

  • H20 beams

  • Floor props

  • Shoring frames

• Analyze structural elements for shear force, bending moment, deflection, and load capacity, ensuring compliance with allowable limits as per technical data sheets.

Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare accurate technical shop drawings using AutoCAD.

• Produce detailed material take-offs and material lists after completion of design.

• Ensure drawings and calculations meet internal quality and project standards.

Technical Review & Coordination

• Review and verify the work of junior design engineers and CAD draftsmen.

• Ensure design accuracy, constructability, and compliance without errors or omissions.

• Coordinate closely with management and project teams on all technical department deliverables.

Leadership & Growth

• Act as a senior technical reference within the design team.

• Support continuous improvement in design quality and efficiency.

• Demonstrate leadership potential for promotion to Technical Manager based on performance and contribution.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

Experience

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in formwork and shoring design, preferably within the GCC.

• Strong experience in reinforced concrete (RC) structures and temporary works.

• Prior experience with PERI or DOKA systems is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including:

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools

  • STAAD III

  • TIPO or equivalent

• Deep understanding of structural behaviour, load paths, and system performance.

• Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD experience in structural drafting and shop drawing preparation.
