Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance Counsel to join a high-growth, international technology-driven investment and digital education firm with operations across the UAE, Europe, the United States, Asia, and Latin America.

This is a strategic and hands-on role supporting group-wide legal, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment. The role covers UAE Mainland and Free Zone entities, as well as international operations across EU/UK, US, APAC (Singapore, Hong Kong), and LATAM, with a strong focus on fintech, proprietary trading, digital platforms, and data protection.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Contract Advisory

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements including SaaS, vendor, marketing, partnership, licensing, and platform contracts

• Maintain contract templates, approval workflows, and contract management trackers

Regulatory & Corporate Compliance

• Oversee compliance for UAE Mainland and Free Zone entities, ensuring alignment with licensing scopes

• Monitor regulatory obligations and legal risk exposure across international markets

• Ensure customer terms, marketing materials, and platform content comply with applicable laws

Data Protection & Privacy

• Implement and monitor compliance with UAE PDPL, EU GDPR, US privacy laws, and other global data protection frameworks

• Draft and maintain privacy notices, DPAs, DPIAs, and data-mapping documentation

• Collaborate with technology and security teams to embed privacy-by-design practices

Risk Management & Internal Controls

• Identify and assess legal and regulatory risks, supporting mitigation strategies

• Develop internal policies covering acceptable use, marketing compliance, sanctions screening, and vendor governance

• Prepare the business for regulatory audits and partner onboarding reviews

Governance, Entities & Expansion

• Support cross-border entity management, filings, registrations, and board resolutions

• Advise on international expansion plans and new market entry assessments

Dispute & External Counsel Management

• Manage pre-litigation matters, legal notices, and escalated customer issues

• Coordinate and manage external legal counsel across key jurisdictions

Intellectual Property & Brand Protection

• Support IP registration, licensing, enforcement, and brand protection initiatives

• Manage IP usage policies, content rights, and digital terms

Candidate Requirements

• LLB, JD, or equivalent international legal qualification

• 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or technology law

• Mandatory experience within a proprietary trading firm

• Strong working knowledge of UAE commercial law, PDPL, and Free Zone regulations

• Familiarity with GDPR, US state privacy laws, and APAC compliance frameworks (Singapore / Hong Kong)

• Experience in fintech, SaaS, technology platforms, or digital businesses is highly desirable

• Excellent legal drafting, advisory, and issue-spotting skills

• High professional integrity with the ability to work autonomously across multiple jurisdictions

• European language skills are an advantage
