Role Overview

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join their Dubai-based team, working on large-scale civil construction projects, including malls, high-rise towers, and major villa developments.

This position is available for immediate joining and will be offered initially on a 6-month temporary contract, outsourced through J10 Consulting, with the opportunity to transfer to a permanent staff role based on performance and business needs.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive UAE main contracting experience, advanced planning and scheduling expertise, and strong proficiency in Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project schedules covering all project phases

• Prepare and manage resource- and cost-loaded master schedules

• Monitor project progress and provide regular schedule updates to project teams and senior management

• Identify potential delays and risks, proposing mitigation strategies to protect project timelines

• Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to gather planning inputs

• Prepare and present progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, and KPIs

• Conduct critical path analysis, identifying early risks and recommending corrective actions

• Perform regular site visits to verify progress against schedules

• Support the preparation and submission of Extension of Time (EOT) claims

• Ensure planning activities comply with company policies, procedures, and contractual requirements

• Utilize project planning software to track performance and support project delivery

Requirements

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline

• 8–10+ years’ experience in project planning and scheduling on large-scale civil construction projects (villas, high-rise towers, mixed-use developments)

• Previous experience with recognised UAE main contracting companies (mandatory)

• Proven expertise in developing and maintaining resource- and cost-loaded schedules

• Strong experience producing internal and external project reports

• Advanced skills in critical path analysis and risk identification

• Proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory); Microsoft Project knowledge is an advantage
