Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical to support the delivery and supervision of major roads, utilities, and traffic signal infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role involves overseeing electrical engineering works from design review through execution, ensuring full compliance with RTA, DEWA, and Dubai Municipality standards.

This position plays a critical role in coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants, and local authorities to ensure high-quality, compliant, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering & Technical Oversight

• Independently develop, review, and supervise electrical engineering works in line with project requirements and authority regulations

• Review electrical designs, calculations, drawings, and technical submissions prior to client and authority approval

• Ensure all electrical works meet approved standards, specifications, and quality requirements

• Provide technical guidance to engineers, CAD designers, and drafting teams

Authority Coordination & Approvals

• Manage and coordinate submissions and approvals with RTA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and other relevant authorities

• Ensure compliance with all Dubai local authority procedures, review processes, and approval requirements

• Follow up with contractors and authorities to secure timely approvals and maintain project schedules

• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and approval logs in approved formats

Site Supervision & Execution

• Coordinate closely with contractors during the execution of LV/HV electrical works, utilities, and traffic signal systems

• Monitor on-site electrical installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications

• Ensure contractors fulfil their contractual responsibilities and do not deviate without formal client authorization

• Identify technical issues on site and propose corrective actions

Project & Team Support

• Support broader engineering and project management activities as required

• Act as discipline lead for electrical works on small to medium-sized projects

• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and progress reporting

• Assist in performance evaluation and mentoring of junior engineers when applicable

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Minimum 15 years of experience in roads, utilities, and traffic signal engineering projects within the UAE

• Strong hands-on experience working on Dubai-based infrastructure projects

• Proven experience dealing with RTA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and other government authorities

• In-depth knowledge of RTA electrical standards, specifications, and approval procedures

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong leadership and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, and authorities

• Proficient in AutoCAD and standard engineering software tools

• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and compliance
