Job Overview

Chalhoub Group is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Magento Developer to join its e-commerce technology team. This role focuses on building, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance Magento 2 platforms that power large-scale luxury retail operations.

You will play a critical role in modernizing legacy Magento projects, improving system performance, and ensuring scalable, secure, and standards-compliant solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep Magento expertise, strong DevOps exposure, and a passion for automation and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and development teams to design and deliver scalable e-commerce solutions

• Review functional requirements, technical designs, and third-party Magento integrations

• Refactor and optimize legacy Magento projects developed by external vendors

• Develop custom Magento 2 modules and extend platform functionality using APIs

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize Magento applications for performance and scalability

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds and deployments

• Ensure compliance with Magento coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices

• Maintain and enhance integrations with payment gateways, CRM systems, and marketing platforms

• Profile backend performance and resolve system bottlenecks

• Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated regression tests

• Monitor application health and propose continuous improvements

• Document technical processes, configurations, and development standards

Candidate Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Magento 2 and e-commerce application development

• Strong expertise in Magento 2 architecture, module development, APIs, and customizations

• Advanced knowledge of PHP and MySQL

• Proven experience refactoring or rebuilding third-party Magento implementations

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions)

• Strong understanding of Magento security, automation, and coding standards

• Experience with Magento performance optimization (Varnish, Redis, indexing, caching)

• Familiarity with Docker and container-based environments

Front-End & DevOps Exposure

• Experience with Knockout.js, RequireJS, and LESS

• Ability to integrate modern front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js with Magento

• Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus

Testing & Quality

• Experience with automated testing tools (PHPUnit, Selenium, Cypress)

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce platforms

• Knowledge of Magento PWA Studio and Progressive Web Applications

• Familiarity with Magento Marketplace submission standards

• Magento Certified Developer credentials

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum development environments
