Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced System Assurance Manager to lead and manage all System Assurance (SA) activities across the full lifecycle of a major railway project. The role ensures that railway systems meet required Safety, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Security (RAMS) standards in compliance with international regulations and project-specific requirements.
This position plays a critical role in the successful delivery, approval, and operational readiness of complex railway systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Assurance Leadership

Lead the System Assurance function for the full scope and duration of the railway project.

Manage and coordinate all assurance activities covering safety, reliability, availability, maintainability, and security (RAMS).

Act as the focal point for all System Assurance matters with internal and external stakeholders.
Standards, Compliance & Documentation

Ensure full compliance with applicable international standards, including EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129.

Develop, review, and maintain System Assurance Plans, procedures, reports, and registers in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Maintain comprehensive assurance documentation, progress reports, and risk mitigation records.
Technical Analysis & Risk Management

Perform system assurance analyses, modelling, and risk assessments for railway systems.

Lead hazard identification, safety assessments, and mitigation planning throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct safety, reliability, and system assurance reviews, audits, and assessments.
Integration & Stakeholder Coordination

Interface with engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure assurance requirements are embedded in design and delivery.

Manage Verification & Validation (V&V) processes and ensure full requirements traceability.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, independent assessors, and regulatory authorities to achieve approval and acceptance of assurance deliverables.

Provide assurance guidance across civil works, systems, stations, footbridges, and O&M interfaces.
Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum 10 years of railway experience, including at least 5 years in a System Assurance Manager or equivalent leadership role.

Proven delivery of system assurance activities on at least one major railway project of comparable size and complexity.

Strong hands-on experience in System Assurance analysis and modelling.

Demonstrated expertise in EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 compliance.

Solid understanding of railway systems integration and interfaces with civil, structural, station, and operational systems.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
