Zurich Insurance, a leading global insurer, is seeking an Underwriter – Onshore Energy for its Dubai office (hybrid role). The role focuses on assessing, pricing, and managing medium-complexity energy risks, while supporting Zurich’s Middle East commercial insurance strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently assess and underwrite medium-complexity onshore energy risks.

• Set and negotiate terms and conditions in line with Zurich Underwriting Guidelines.

• Perform account servicing, prepare documentation, and update underwriting systems.

• Engage frequently with brokers and distributors, proactively seeking new business opportunities.

• Understand how individual accounts fit into broader underwriting strategies.

• Anticipate and resolve customer and broker queries efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years underwriting experience in energy lines, especially onshore energy.

• Established network of brokers in the Middle East and international markets.

• Knowledge of Treaty Reinsurance Protection and Facultative Reinsurance.

• Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, philosophy, techniques, and local filing regulations.

• Excellent risk assessment, negotiation, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
