Saipem is hiring an Environmental Specialist for its on-site operations in Abu Dhabi. This full-time role is ideal for professionals with at least 15 years of experience in environmental engineering, particularly within offshore oil & gas projects. The candidate must have deep expertise in environmental regulations, impact assessments, risk modeling, and environmental management systems. Certification in Environmental Engineering is preferred.

🔹 Responsibilities:

• Design, review, and oversee environmental management strategies to reduce environmental risks to ALARP

• Ensure project compliance with local and international environmental laws and regulations (e.g., MARPOL, IPPC, EPA, OSPAR, OSHA, ISO14001)

• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation for various authorities

• Manage environmental projects from planning through to execution

• Conduct Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and develop Environmental Management Plans (EMP)

• Lead Environmental Impact Identification (ENVID) and risk assessment processes

• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to secure environmental approvals

• Perform modeling studies (air dispersion, noise) using software like AERMOD, CALPUFF, and SOUNDPLAN

• Develop spill prevention, control, and contingency response plans

• Conduct fugitive and greenhouse gas emissions reporting

• Apply knowledge of noise/vibration control and field measurement standards

✅ Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline

• 15+ years of relevant experience

• At least 5 years of experience in Offshore Oil & Gas Projects

• Certified Environmental Engineer or equivalent certification preferred

• Proficiency in AERMOD, CALPUFF, SOUNDPLAN, or similar tools

• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and environmental regulatory frameworks

• Experience in stakeholder management and regulatory approvals

• Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills
