Miral Experiences is looking for a dedicated Research Assistant to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This full-time, on-site role involves supporting marine and microalgae research activities primarily focused on maintaining and optimizing microalgae strains under controlled laboratory conditions.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for culturing microalgae, conducting experiments, preparing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The role also supports data collection, documentation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Zoological and Education teams.

This position is ideal for candidates with a background in marine sciences or related fields, strong communication skills, and a commitment to advancing marine research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and culture microalgae strains under laboratory conditions.

• Optimize protocols to improve efficiency, stability, and scale-up processes.

• Record production data and assist in report preparation.

• Conduct experiments following established procedures and document results.

• Prepare samples for scientists and assist with technical troubleshooting.

• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, prepare materials, and manage waste disposal.

• Use and maintain lab equipment in coordination with the lab manager.

• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and promote a clean working environment.

• Support field research and rescue operations when required.

• Collaborate with SeaWorld Abu Dhabi teams and contribute to outreach goals.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences, Marine Ecology, Biology, or related field.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a research lab or microalgal culturing facility.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to represent Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Center to scientific, public, and governmental communities.

• Commitment to company values and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related field.

• Previous experience working in the GCC region.

• Multicultural workplace experience is a plus.
