Kitopi is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Sushi Commis to join their kitchen team. This role offers a great opportunity to learn sushi preparation and grow in a fast-paced, creative kitchen environment, working closely with the Sushi Chef and kitchen staff to deliver high-quality Japanese dishes.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing sushi ingredients (fish, vegetables, rice).

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other dishes under supervision.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station.

Support preparation of garnishes and sauces.

Follow food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards.

Monitor sushi ingredient inventory and report shortages.

Assist in setting up and breaking down the sushi station.

Keep updated on sushi trends and techniques.
Qualifications:

Previous kitchen or sushi-making experience preferred but not required.

Strong passion for sushi and Japanese cuisine.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of sushi rice preparation and knife techniques.

Experience with different fish and seafood used in sushi.
-
Culinary qualifications or apprenticeship is a plus but not mandatory.
