Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mermaid Diver at Atlantis Resorts. The performer will be responsible for:

• Performing as a mermaid in underwater shows, meet-and-greets, and themed events
• Swimming gracefully in a mermaid tail, executing choreographed routines and improvisational movements
• Participating in rehearsals, costume fittings, and promotional activities
• Maintaining physical fitness and water safety proficiency
• Following safety procedures and emergency protocols as instructed by the Dive Safety Officer
• Assisting in the care, maintenance, and cleaning of mermaid costumes and equipment
• Logging and reporting equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
• Maintaining dive logs and records of personal dives
• Ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy work environment for both performers and marine animals

Qualifications:

• Certified freediver with recognized certification
• Ability to pass an annual swim test, demonstrating excellent swimming and breath-holding skills
• Experience in aquatic performance, synchronized swimming, diving, or dance
• Comfortable engaging with large audiences, including children and families
• Ability to perform underwater in varying temperatures for extended periods
• Endurance for repetitive movement, wearing a monofin or mermaid tail
• Excellent physical condition, able to pass an annual dive medical
• Ability to lift costume elements or equipment up to 25 lbs
• CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
• Proficiency in English and comfort working near marine animals
