Conflicts Officer

Dentons, a global law firm, is hiring a Conflicts Officer to join their Risk & Compliance team in the UAE (Dubai or Abu Dhabi). This full-time, office-based role involves reviewing and managing legal and commercial conflicts, supporting compliance across the Middle East, UK, and Ireland offices, and working closely with legal professionals to maintain regulatory integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and clear medium to high complexity conflict checks.

  • Manage legal and commercial conflict matters from review to matter record creation.

  • Provide conflict resolution guidance and support for Middle East offices.

  • Collaborate with legal teams, partners, and the Client Terms Team on conflict issues.

  • Identify and escalate sanctions-related concerns to the Financial Crime Team.

  • Ensure internal systems and conflict flags are current and accurate.

  • Assist in analyzing engagement terms and bespoke client agreements.

  • Support ongoing management of compliance-related matters and projects.

  • Use systems like Elite/3E, Intapp Open, and other tools for conflict checks.

  • Participate in team initiatives and assist with lower complexity workflows when needed.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent (preferred).

  • 2–3 years of relevant conflicts experience in an international law firm.

  • Strong knowledge of international legal regulations including SRA, DIFC, Law Society of Ireland, and others.

  • Familiarity with compliance systems like Elite/3E, Intapp Open.

  • Understanding of Data Protection, Market Abuse Directive, FSMA, and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
