Nour Arjaan by Rotana is seeking a passionate and dynamic Commis I to join their culinary team. As a Commis I, you will be responsible for daily food preparation and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service in the kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while enhancing your culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operations.

  • Work according to menu specifications provided by the Chef de Partie.

  • Maintain hygiene standards and cleanliness in the work area as per the hotel’s rules.

  • Control food stock and manage food costs in your section.

  • Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the kitchen or satellites.

  • Follow instructions and recommendations from supervisors to complete daily tasks.

  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, keeping up to date with new products, recipes, and techniques.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other kitchen sections to meet requirements and ensure cleanliness, cost control, and minimal wastage.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef’s training course.

  • Previous experience in quality establishments with good culinary skills.

  • Strong knowledge in food preparation, presentation, and preservation.

  • Ability to communicate in English.

  • Passionate about food and committed to teamwork and excellent guest experiences.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under challenging conditions.
